Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticle-Templated Ionic Liquid as a Drug Carrier for Ibuprofen and Quercetin

In this study, a series of mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSN) was successfully synthesized using different ionic liquids (ILs) as template. Five ILs and surfactant with alkyl side chains types anion namely 1-dodecyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide ([C12mim][I]), 3-diethylamino propanol vanillate (DV), 2-butylamino ethanol salicylate (BS), (DS), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide ([bmim][NTf2]) hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) were used. All MSNs produced have broad peaks, indicating in amorphous form observed by XRD while the morphology MSN showed agglomeration particles due to parallel arrangement pores size both for FESEM HRTEM. The are displayed Type IV BET isotherm H2 hysteresis loops which is typical materials highest surface area obtained 638 m2/g. study on uptake release ibuprofen quercetin carried out, where higher drug compared better interaction molecules. conducted at 48 h indicates 33.1% 38.4% released. It can be indicated that MSN-BS best loading release. Drugs kinetics process follows Korsmeyer peppes model. efficiency MSN-BS/IBU MSN-BS/QUE 25 °C 250 rpm stirring rate IBU QUE, respectively.
